DESCRIPTION:Part of our celebrating connections with Ireland\, join us for a relaxing afternoon and a rich tapestry of sound as we celebrate the beauty and spirit of Celtic music with an exceptional line-up of artists. \n\n\n\nHamish Napier & Jordan Neil are a new Strathspey folk music duo inspired by local landscape & heritage with flutes\, whistles\, guitar\, Scottish smallpipes\, songs & stories. \n\n\n\nZoë Conway & John McIntyre – an Irish husband-and-wife duo weaving together eclectic fiddle and guitar with fresh interpretations of traditional tunes\, original compositions and songs both old and new. \n\n\n\nFiddler Amy Geddes and stepdancer Alison Carlyle have been at the forefront of stepdance in Scotland since its revival in the 1990s. This work powerfully explores how stepdance was nearly lost in Scotland\, sustained instead in Cape Breton\, and traces the lifelong friendship woven through its revival here. \n\n\n\nGroundbreaking new work from award-winning theatre director Gerry Mulgrew\, and Deiseil Airson Dannsa founders\, dancer Alison Carlyle and musician Amy Geddes. \n\n\n\nDeiseil/dʲeʃal/ (sounds like jay-shal) means ‘ready’ in Scottish Gaelic – an invitation to be ready for a mesmerising reflection on culture\, identity and connection. \n\n\n\nWorkshopOn Sunday 4 October join us for a Deiseil Stepdance Workshop with Alison and Amy.
