Understanding ADHD Together Adult Session
26 October @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Come along and discover more about adult ADHD, what it means to you, and pick up strategies to use along the way.
Join us for a relaxed session about ADHD, executive functioning, and neurodiversity.
We are hearing a lot in the media at the moment about ADHD and people’s perceptions of what it is and whether it is overdiagnosed, but there is nothing about what it is, what is happening and what to do about it.
In this workshop, Vicky intends to take you on a journey of understanding. Adults with ADHD have extra challenges, and it is hoped to bring some context to those challenges so that you understand more about what is happening and why.
In turn, you will better understand executive functioning and learn what does and doesn’t work.
This session seeks to dispel common misconceptions, clarifying that ADHD is a complex neurological difference rather than a simple behavioural issue. It blends personal lived experience with insights to help adults better understand and support themselves.
The presentation is structured around several key themes:
- An introduction to ADHD
- Debunking ADHD Myths
- Overview of Neurodiversity/Neurodivergence
- Dopamine
- The role of Executive Functioning and the Brain
- The Importance of Diagnosis and Strategy & what can come first
- Positives and Strengths
- Q&A
- Way forward
Vicky brings both professional expertise as an ADHD Coach & Mentor, a Youth & Community Development worker, as well as her own lived experience being late-diagnosed with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and Dysgraphia.
