Findhorn fair a ‘platform for local groups’

The Findhorn Residents’ Association are hard at work making final preparations for the annual Findhorn Village Fair. With entertainment for all ages, the fair will be held at the Piers in Findhorn village from 1 – 4pm on the afternoon of Sunday 21st July 2024.

There will be live music throughout the afternoon and, in addition to a raffle with a £50 first prize, wheel of fortune and numerous stalls, there will be ‘Give it a go Row’ with Findhorn Coastal Rowers. There will be an opportunity to see the MIRO Rescue boat, The Glynn Whitehead III, and the RNLI Invergordon lifeboat close up. A BBQ will sell burgers and hot dogs and Findhorn Scottish Women’s Institute will serve afternoon teas in the James Milne Institute. One of the highlights of the fair, the ‘Made in Findhorn’ stall, will be showcasing a wide range of products all crafted in Findhorn.

Residents’ Association member, Morag Robertson, is leading on activities for children at the Fair. Morag said: “This year there will be lots of fun activities for children to enjoy including face painting and a children’s fancy dress parade. The theme for the fancy dress parade this year is toys. I would  encourage everyone to get their thinking caps on for their children’s fancy dress costumes! I am delighted to report that Bubbles the Clown, who has been really popular with children at previous Findhorn Fairs, will be visiting the Fair once again on 21st July! He will be accompanied by Mrs Bubbles who will offer face painting.”

Sam Russell, Chairperson of FRA said: “We are delighted once again to be staging the annual Findhorn Village Fair. The Fair is organised for the enjoyment of both locals and summer visitors while, at the same time, offering a platform from which local groups and organisations can make themselves known. It is also the FRA’s main fundraising event of the year, enabling the FRA to improve the village environment and support local groups and good causes. Proceeds from the fair cover expenses throughout the year, such as grass cutting, floral displays, Christmas lights, repairs to the play park, public liability insurance, etc.”

Sam added: “The Findhorn Residents’ Association meets regularly in the James Milne Institute in Findhorn. Anyone wishing to attend would be very welcome. Please get in touch if you would like more information.”
